Ice Maker Repair

Clear-ice heads and standard freezer modules: short fills, missed harvests, slabbed bins and the water-supply faults that usually get blamed on the module.

What people call us about

If one of these is close to what your unit is doing, we have seen it this month on the island.

  • 01 Hollow, undersized or cloudy cubes coming out of a clear-ice head
  • 02 Bin filling with one welded slab instead of separate cubes
  • 03 Ice production stopped completely a day or two after a filter change
  • 04 Water running down the inside of the cabinet from the fill tube area

How the visit runs

  1. Before we arrive

Model and serial number, what the unit is doing, and how long it has been doing it. Half the diagnosis is usually done from that alone, and it decides what goes on the van.

  2. On the doorstep

Floor covered, panels off before anything moves. Nothing is pulled out of cabinetry until the surround has been checked and protected.

  3. The service call

Cabinet and evaporator temperatures logged, defrost circuit and controls tested, sealed system read under gauges where the symptom calls for it. The flat $89 covers all of it.

  4. The number, then the work

A firm price for parts and labor before anything is opened or ordered. If it is not worth repairing you get told that, and you are not charged for the opinion.

  5. Before we leave

The cabinet is run back down to its set point and the readings are shown to you. Panels and reveals reset to where they started.

  • One welded lump in the bin instead of cubes. He called it harvest timing at the door, not the module, and it was: a sticking arm and a slow heater. Cubes drop separately now.

  • Cloudy, hollow cubes for months, and not the building water — the neighbors were fine. He measured the fill, found a lazy valve and a half-blocked fill tube, and did both. Clear cubes again.

    Anders B. · Town Center · Oct 2025

  • The bar unit quit filling two days before we had people over. He came up that afternoon and found the shut-off valve barely open after some plumbing work, plus a scaled inlet screen. Ran all weekend.
