The racks do the plain work of carrying a collection in and out. Bottles come off them more often on the island than owners expect, for a windstorm that takes the power down or a part that has to cross the bridge before a second visit, and the wear shows when the collection goes back.

Taking a rack out

Empty it first; nothing good comes of lifting a loaded rack. On the UC-24BG, Sub-Zero’s undercounter guide has the rack tilt up, then lift up and out, and go back by sliding into the tracks along the back wall before the front is lowered until it locks. What goes wrong

Flat or stiff rollers, bent slides, and wood facings refinished with whatever was in the garage: a rack sits inside a sealed wine cooler with your bottles, so what goes onto it matters. A rack left standing proud can also hold the glass door off its seal. Damaged racks are replaced to the model and priced after the diagnosis as wine storage repair.
